K-Safety, LLC is partnering with Mobilize Rescue Systems to bring life-saving knowledge and equipment to school safety plans and workplace safety plans in Idaho, Nevada, Texas, and Utah. Kerry Gunter, the founder of K-Safety, has focused his entire business on helping his customers solve safety problems and is thrilled to use the Mobilize Rescue System to help his customers prepare for active shooter events and other critical medical emergency situations.
"I don’t get too excited about first aid and safety products, because I’ve seen so many come and go,” said Gunter. "But this is an amazing design, and amazing tool that’s really going to help save people’s lives.”
The Mobilize Rescue System uses an interactive first aid app that unites the knowledge and equipment bystanders need to respond to medical emergencies. The easily downloadable app will help bystanders assess, manage, and monitor medical emergencies (such as severe bleeding, cardiac arrest, opiate overdoses, seizures, choking, and hypothermia) in conjunction with the supplies in each Mobilize Rescue unit. Since studies have shown that the effectiveness of CPR/AED training decreases over time (92% of participants failed the hands-on skills exam one year after training), having an app with a ‘just-in-time’ refresher course provides a valuable fail-safe for anyone looking to prepare for unexpected medical emergencies – especially during a school lockdown situation.
"In a school emergency, it’s going to take 5-10 minutes for a professional responder to arrive, and another 30-45 minutes for law enforcement to clear the building, and then you’re going to have to wait another 30-45 minutes or even hours,” said Gunter. "By the time it’s all done, the probability of that person surviving is very low without someone there who can help them. That’s why the Mobilize Rescue App can help.”
Mobilize Rescue Systems’ new technology provides a cost-effective method to equip entire communities, organizations, schools and individuals to stop massive bleeding while EMS is en route. The Mobilize Rescue System has been implemented by federal and law enforcement agencies, security and investigations agencies, K-12 schools and universities, public and private organizations, as well as mining, industrial, and manufacturing organizations. The new technology has already been used to manage multiple medical emergencies across the country.
"Active shooters are not going to go away,” said Gunter. "Now is the time to prepare ourselves.”
