The Feature: Continuous Assessment of the Victim During Changing Emergencies
Medical emergencies can change quickly, and without warning. The Mobilize Rescue App will remind you to continually reassess the victim, in case new emergencies arise.
The Emergency Scenario:
You’re biking with your family, when your son suddenly loses control of his bike and runs into a tree. On impact, a branch jabs him in the chest and leaves a gaping wound. Following the Mobilize Rescue App, you place a chest seal on the wound and loosen his clothing, place him in the ideal position and cover him in an emergency blanket. But after a few minutes, the chest seal starts to bulge and you suspect it isn’t working properly. What do you do now?
The Mobilize Rescue App will automatically prompt you to assess the chest seal every few minutes - it can even send a message to your smartwatch when it’s connected to a phone running the Mobilize Rescue App. If the chest seal is leaking or bulging, the instructions will show you how to fix the existing seal or discard it and apply a new one.
The Bystander Benefit:
If the emergency changes, the Mobilize Rescue App will help you manage the new problem.
Responding to one emergency is difficult enough, without the fear of the emergency developing into something worse. But with the Mobilize Rescue App, even if the emergency changes you will be able to manage the new problem with confidence.
The Organizational Benefit:
You can simplify the training process for your staff.
Because of the expense and time constraints of traditional training, organizations are unable to send every single employee to a CPR/AED & First Aid training course (which are generally 6-8 hours long, and range in cost from $80-$120 per person). Since the diagnostic algorithm in the Mobilize Rescue app doesn’t require the user to be trained, organizations can empower more than just a small, select group of people how to save lives by distributing the Mobilize Rescue App to every single employee.
Recent studies have shown that two-thirds (67%) of CPR course participants will fail the hands-on skills exam 90-days post-training, and that 92% will fail 1-year after training. Having an app that shows you what to do, when you need to do it, can provide a high-quality ‘refresher’ course as an emergency unfolds.
