Feature: The Algorithm
Unlike traditional medical apps, the Mobilize Rescue app follows a unique algorithm designed to walk a bystander (who doesn’t have any training) through the necessary steps to assess a variety of unknown medical emergencies.
You don’t have to know (or remember) how to provide medical care before you use the app.
Recent studies have shown that two-thirds (67%) of CPR course participants will fail the hands-on skills exam 90-days post-training, and that 92% will fail 1-year after training. Having an app that shows you what to do, when you need to do it, can provide a high-quality ‘refresher’ course as an emergency unfolds.

Because of the expense and time constraints of traditional training, organizations are unable to send every single employee to a CPR/AED & First Aid training course (which are generally 6-8 hours long, and range in cost from $80-$120 per person). Since the diagnostic algorithm in the Mobilize Rescue app doesn’t require the user to be trained, organizations can empower more than just a small, select group of people how to save lives by distributing the Mobilize Rescue App to every single employee.
The Problem with Traditional Instructional Booklets:
Traditional first aid instructions are tough to use (whether they come in the form of a booklet or an app) because they don’t provide much guidance for assessing or diagnosing the problem.
Let’s say one of your co-workers is complaining of pain in their chest. Remembering that chest pain is often heart-related, you grab a set of first-aid instructions and flip to the section on heart attacks. You read that the initial treatment for most cardiac problems is a dose of Aspirin, so you find some and give it to your co-worker as you start to dial 911. But since the booklet doesn’t ask you any questions about what else is going on, and you didn't know the important questions to ask, you missed the fact that the chest pain is really tightness that is stemming from a serious allergic reaction. In other words, you've given the wrong medication.
It's no wonder people without much training are scared to use traditional first aid instructions – they know the consequences of making a mistake when the instructions aren't designed to help them figure out what's wrong during an emergency.
The assessment and diagnostic features of the Mobilize Rescue App are what set Mobilize Rescue Systems apart from a traditional first aid booklet. Instead of forcing an untrained bystander to make assumptions about the cause of a problem, the app will prompt them to ask the right questions, so the victim gets the right treatment.
A Closer Look at the Mobilize Rescue Algorithm
Thanks to the algorithm, the Mobilize Rescue App will prompt the bystander to assess the emergency, ruling out the most life-threatening emergencies first starting with severe bleeding (which can become fatal in as little as three minutes). Assuming the victim is not bleeding severely, the app will move onto airway complications (which can cause brain death, or actual death, in as little as six minutes).
Once the emergency has been assessed, the Mobilize Rescue app will provide instructions for how to manage the emergency; if the emergency requires equipment, the Mobilize Rescue app will show where to locate the equipment in the corresponding Mobilize Rescue unit. Through the entire emergency, the Mobilize Rescue app will continue to help the bystander assess and monitor the patient, until EMS arrives.
