Do you know the difference between an extremity, junctional, chest or head or face wound? Would you know what supplies you would need to manage those different emergencies? Would you know how to use a tourniquet, a chest seal, a pressure dressing, or QuikClot?
With the help of the Mobilize Rescue App’s visual ‘pain and injury location’ tool, you can be confident that you will manage the injury or pain properly by first identifying the source of the pain or bleeding.
The Feature: the Pain & Injury Location Tool
What it does: Mobilize Rescue App will prompt a bystander to identify the source of the pain or injury on the victim of a medical emergency, injury, or accident using an ‘interactive body choice image.’
Why it’s Important: The Mobilize Rescue App ensures that bystander provide care according to medical best-practices, by starting with the source of the problem.
The Emergency Scenario: Gunshot wound
You’re hunting with one of your friends and he suffers a gunshot wound after his rifle accidentally discharges into his right leg. You open the Compact unit, but you can’t quite remember if you are or aren’t supposed to start with a tourniquet or go right to applying pressure - so you launch the Mobilize Rescue App on your phone and follow the prompts until you get to the screen that says "Touch where victim is bleeding worst,” and select the red button on the leg of the ‘interactive body choice locator.’ The Mobilize Rescue App reminds you that the first step in managing an extremity wound is to apply a tourniquet, so you grab the tourniquet with the red A1 label and begin to place it on your friend.
Once you stop the bleeding, you follow the instructions to rule out other emergencies and place an emergency blanket on the victim. As soon as the life-threats have been managed, the Mobilize Rescue App will prompt you to "Call 911”, using a button housed in the app. Once emergency responders have been contacted, all that’s left for you to do is wait with the victim for help to arrive.
The Bystander Benefit:
You don’t have to depend on your memory to know how to identify which emergencies to manage first, which supplies to use, and how to use them.
The Organizational Benefit:
The Mobilize Rescue App will help your employees provide care according to medical and military best-practices, even if they forget previous training during an emergency.
